Auto Home Business Life

Not all homeowner policies carry coverages for personal belongings for students living away from home and at school.  We had a personal experience with this as one of our relatives experienced a fire away at school that was his fault because a shirt was placed too close to a lamp.  He not only was liable for the damage to the building, but also for the losses of the other students.  He also lost his own laptop computer, his clothes and personal items. The entire claim was $37,000+ and fortunately was covered under his parent’s Homeowner Policy.  We suggest insured’s check their policies if they have students away at school.  Generally the policies are not that expensive.  In some cases the coverage can be endorsed on to the existing Homeowner coverage.  An HO-4 policy is a great tool to protect a student's assets, belongings, and being liable for Bodily Injury and/or Property Damage.
