Texas man uses "Aqua Dam" to protect home from floodwaters
A man in Rosharon, Texas has found a unique way to keep his home high and dry, and he bought the device called an Aqua Dam, in Louisiana.
Wagner was determined to find a way to save his home.In the middle of all of it, it looks like he did just that- making an island with his house and an Aqua Dam. He drove to Louisiana to buy the device, and filled up the 400 feet of 30 inch high tubes made of plastic and fabric with water.Wagner and his family stayed, waited and watched as the water rose to 27 inches, but Wagner says it never seeped through the barriers. It cost him money, but he says it was well worth his sanity.$8300 is to me a small investment on a house that could have two foot of water in it, and cost me $150,000 in repairs," Wagner said.
